In episode 6 of Real Estate Radio, we dive into earnest money and the impact it has in situations where there are competing offers. Especially in today’s market, a buyer offering earnest money shows that the buyer has good faith in the transaction. It is also one of many strategies for a buyer to stand apart from other offers that may be similar on paper. From the seller’s perspective, considering an offer with earnest money provides a sort of safeguard that lowers the chances for a transaction to fall out of contract. In this episode, we also dive into how inclusion & exclusions affect contracts and offers.
